Rudolf Dema


Rudolf Dema is an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where he supports the institute’s work on humanitarian action, particularly the evaluation of UNHCR’s engagement in humanitarian-development cooperation.

Rudolf is currently enrolled at the United Nations University and the University of Bonn, Germany where he studies the joint master’s program in the geography of environmental risk and human security. His research interests include environmentally-induced migration, humanitarian responses, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction. 

Previously, Rudolf worked as graduate research assistant at the German Development Institute (DIE) in Bonn. At DIE, he worked on the Klimalog project, which focuses on the implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement through strengthening non-state and sub-national climate contributions in the Global South. He also worked for the Centre for Development Research (ZEF), supporting the PARI Project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
