Marcus Woodcock


Marcus Woodcock is an intern at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where he contributes to the institute’s work on peace and security. His research interests include new technologies, conflict and peace studies as well as migration.

Marcus is a graduate of the War Studies Department at King’s College London. During his undergraduate degree, he specialized in African politics and critical security studies. He was specifically interested in the Sahel region and mixed-method research in securitization theory.

Previously, Marcus was a war studies undergraduate research fellow with the Security Flows project, which was funded by the European Research Council. As part of this research, he analyzed the role of private technology companies in the management of EU migration by tracking the patents of private corporations with FRONTEX and EULISA tenders.
