Karolin Tuncel


Karolin Tuncel is an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where she supports the institute’s work on peace and security. Her research interests include identity and peacebuilding, migration and conflict, as well as the UN’s work on conflict prevention. 

Before joining GPPi, Karolin worked at the German Bundestag with both the Petitions Committee and the Central Administration division. She has also interned at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Canada.

Karolin studied political science at the Free University in Berlin, the American University in Cairo and Institut d’études politiques de Paris. Her studies have been supported by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, the Direct Exchange Scholarship of Free University Berlin, as well as by the Erasmus + worldwide funds. She wrote her bachelor’s thesis on feminism in international security discourses. After her internship, Karolin will study politics and international studies at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.
