Julian Philippi

Julian Philippi was previously a research associate at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where he contributed to the institute’s work on multilateral coalition building and the changing global order.

Prior to joining GPPi, Julian worked with the German development agency GIZ in the peace and security unit supporting the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). As a student, Julian interned as a strategy consultant and event manager. He volunteered with Global Brigades and Viva Con Agua, working on projects aimed at improving access to water.

Julian received his master‘s degree in international affairs from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. During an exchange semester at Georgetown University, Julian explored the transatlantic relationship between the US and Europe. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and law from the University of Münster in Germany. As an undergraduate, Julian spent a year at the University Paris Nanterre, where he specialized in international law.
