Aryaman Bhatnagar is a German Chancellor Fellow at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. During his 2018 – 2019 fellowship, he will focus on Germany’s foreign policy and its engagement with Afghanistan. His wider research interests include Indian foreign policy and political and security developments in South Asia, particularly Pakistan and Afghanistan. 

He has previously worked as a project manager and advisor for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung India’s Peace and Security program, as an associate fellow with the Neighbourhood Regional Studies Initiative at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, and as a research officer with the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, New Delhi. In 2017 and 2018, he was also a Global Governance Futures 2027 Fellow, focusing on transnational terrorism. 

Aryaman holds a master’s degree in international politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Delhi.
