GPPi Seeks Freelance Graphic Designers

The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) is an independent, non-profit think tank in Berlin. We are seeking graphic designers to help us with web and publication design on an ad hoc basis. Given the wide range of issues and projects we work on, we are looking for designers with various specializations – please specify your skill set and focus in your introduction.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated practical experience as a graphic designer;
  • Experience following design briefs and, ideally, working with clients from the academic, policy or non-profit sectors;
  • A background in designing either printed materials – especially longer research publications – or for the digital realm, ideally including data visualizations and/or illustrations, and ideally for content relevant to at least one of GPPi’s areas of work;
  • English fluency;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality results on time and under tight deadlines, and to quickly respond to inquiries about availability as well as feedback.

If you are interested in collaborating with us, please send the following as a single PDF to freelance@gppi.net:

  • Your CV (no Europass and no pictures, please);
  • A brief letter of interest;
  • References (e.g., a link to your portfolio or links to/attached samples of previous relevant design work);
  • Information about your general availability and hourly rate.

If you specialize in a different sub-field of design, you’re still welcome to get in touch. Relevant projects are much rarer, but we look forward to hearing from you regardless.

Please do not call for questions or to inquire about the status of your introduction, and please do not submit your documents in paper form. We are continuously adding to our freelance roster and will do our best to get back to you with our feedback as swiftly as possible.
