GPPi Seeks Freelance Editors (in English or German)

The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), an independent, non-profit think tank based in Berlin, seeks talented wordsmiths to help us make our writing better. Our editorial content takes a variety of forms, ranging from in-depth research studies to shorter opinion pieces for a broad audience.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated practical experience as an editor, ideally within an international research, policy or non-profit context;
  • Native-level English or German;
  • Excellent writing and copyediting skills, ideally with an academic background that relates to GPPi’s work;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality results on time and under tight deadlines, and to quickly respond to inquiries about availability as well as feedback;
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to different political and cultural contexts and the challenges they can pose to crafting precise, accessible and inclusive language;
  • An interest in and familiarity with some of GPPi’s main areas of work.

If you are interested in collaborating with us, please send the following as a single PDF to freelance@gppi.net:

  • Your CV (no Europass and no pictures, please);
  • A very brief letter of interest;
  • References (e.g., web links to or attached samples of previous relevant editing work);
  • Information about your general availability and hourly rate.

Please do not call for questions or to inquire about the status of your introduction, and please do not submit your documents in paper form. We are continuously adding to our freelance roster and will do our best to get back to you as swiftly as possible.
