Thomas Hanley is an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where he supports the institute’s work on authoritarian-liberal challenges to democracy, the changing global order, and data and technology politics. He is currently completing a graduate teaching assistantship at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in Germany and is an Atlantic Expedition fellow with the Berlin-based Atlantische Initiative, an organization working to improve transatlantic relations.
Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in political science degree from Boston College, where his thesis examined the relationship between European radical right-wing parties and xenophobic violence. Previously, he was a strategy intern in London with R/GA Digital Advertising. He has also completed an internship with the United States Department of State at the U.S. - European Media Hub in Brussels, Belgium.
