Polen Türkmen is an intern at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where she contributes to the institute’s work on human rights. Her research interests include topics in global justice, European studies, multiculturalism and the philosophy of human rights.
Polen is currently studying for her bachelor's degree in philosophy at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, with a particular focus on issues in political philosophy. During her studies, she and her team won first prize in the St Andrews Global Challenges Competition, for an ongoing UNESCO project to combat the problem of misinformation within an international and institutional framework. Previously she volunteered with the Effective Altruism community and Amnesty International. Polen is editor-in-chief of the St Andrews Economist.
