Oliver Wiechoczek

Oliver Wiechoczek is currently a member of the Europe directorate of the German Ministry of Finance, where he focuses on issues related to the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework. He previously worked at the Permanent Representation of Germany to the EU in Brussels as well as at the French Ministry of Economy, Industry and Employment in Paris. 

Oliver was a summer fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute in July and August 2005. During his time at the institute, he contributed to the Hertie School of Governance’s executive education seminar on global public policy and supported GPPi’s research on development policy. 

He studied for a a master’s degree in international business and cultural studies at the universities of Passau and Laval in Québec, Canada, and also holds an master’s degree in European political and administrative studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium (Beethoven Promotion). Oliver received fellowships from the Bayerische Begabtenförderung and the European Movement Germany. He is an alumnus of the Dialogue d’avenir franco-allemand, which is co-organized by the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and its French counterpart Ifri, as well as a founding member of the Association des Anciens du Dialogue d’avenir franco-allemand (Adafa).
