Nish Chankar is an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where she contributes to the institute’s work on innovation in development.
Currently, Nish is pursuing her honors bachelor’s degree in economics and international relations at the University of Toronto. Her senior thesis, which she completed in her third year, discussed the economic aspects of violence against women at both the local and international level.
She spent this year as a fellow with The Mosaic Institute, where she focused on program coordination on university campuses. Previously, Nish completed an internship at Springtide Resources, a non-profit organization aimed at preventing violence against women. Last summer, Nish received a scholarship to complete a joint exchange program at Fudan University in Shanghai and Peking University in Beijing, where she studied the rise of China and other Asian countries in the context of the global economy.
