Maximilian Norz

Maximilian Norz is currently a Master of Public Policy student at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. During his time as a research associate with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin he contributed to the institute’s work on development, humanitarian assistance and partnerships.

Maximilian holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration from the Humboldt University in Berlin and in history from the University of Tübingen. He also participated in a year-long leadership program in Berlin, Studienkolleg zu Berlin. During his studies, he received scholarships from the German National Academic Foundation and the Hertie Foundation.

Maximilian has worked in various fields. In 2006 and 2007, he built up an HIV/​AIDS Prevention and Care Program for the Real Medicine Foundation in central India, and used his expertise during later evaluation projects, including Initiative Sudan in South Sudan in 2011.

Outside of his work at GPPi, Maximilian was a social entrepreneur in the creative industries. He is currently head of consultations for the initiative art but fair,” which he co-founded in 2013. Extensive engagement in international projects has led him to almost 40 countries, mainly as a violinist conducting workshops with the Tübinger Chamber Orchestra for the Goethe-Institut and as a photojournalist for the German Press Agency.
