Max Weckemann

Max Weckemann is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international security at Sciences Po Paris, following concentrations in methods and Middle Eastern studies. He contributed to the institute’s work on peace and security as a research assistant after completing an internship with GPPi in 2015.

Previously, he studied international affairs at the University of St. Gallen and was an exchange student at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá. During his undergraduate studies he interned with the German embassy in Colombia, participated in National Model United Nations conferences in New York, and organized a class on international development as part of a student initiative. His research interests include transitional justice, peacebuilding, and early warning of atrocity crimes.
