Marie Wagner is a project manager at the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin, where she contributes to the institute’s work on humanitarian action. She was also an editor of the PeaceLab Blog as a part of GPPi’s peace and security team. Her research interests include anticipatory humanitarian action, forecast-based financing and evaluation in international organizations. Marie also worked as an anticipatory action consultant for the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) and gave several seminars and conference inputs on the topic.

Marie holds a master’s degree in public policy and management from HEC Paris and the Free University in Berlin. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and media sciences as well as French philology from Berlin’s Free University and spent a year at Université Laval in Québec.

During her studies, Marie was a Carlo-Schmid-Fellow at the CERF, where she worked on humanitarian financing. She also conducted a social impact assessment with SSP in Osmanabad, India, and worked with Action Against Hunger in Berlin, Oxfam Solidarité in Brussels, and Amnesty International in Québec and Berlin. Her studies have been supported by the German National Academic Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Franco-German University, and the Free University’s direct exchange program.
