Lucas Stratmann

Lucas Stratmann was a research associate with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. His research focused on processes of regionalization and globalization, social responsibility, and knowledge and innovation economies. 

Lucas is currently pursuing a master’s degree in political science at Freie Universität Berlin. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in international politics from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He wrote an award-winning thesis on regional organization in Southeast Asia. During his undergraduate studies, he was involved in student government, held positions as teacher’s assistant and research assistant, and co-founded the TEDxGeorgetown conference.

Before joining GPPi, Lucas conducted research and interviews around the world on the topic of global social responsibility in the context of the independent What Do I Owe You?” research project. He has worked as a freelance journalist for ARD German TV’s Washington, DC, and Hamburg offices.

Lucas is a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and has received a financial scholarship and research grants from Georgetown University.
