Klaus Dingwerth

Non-Resident Fellow

Klaus Dingwerth is a non-resident fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) and an assistant professor of global governance at the University of St. Gallen. Klaus’s research interests include international organizations, global environmental politics, transnational governance, international ethics, global democracy, norms in world politics and organizational studies.

Klaus is the author of The New Transnationalism (Palgrave, 2007) and Postnationale Demokratie, and was the co-editor of Global Environmental Change and the Nation State (a special issue of the journal Global Environmental Politics, 2004). He also reviews for over 20 international academic journals, publishers and research foundations. Furthermore, Klaus has co-organized over a dozen international workshops and conferences and has been a member of several international academic networks, including the Global Governance Project (glo​gov​.org) and a EU-funded research network on Transformations in Global Environmental Governance.”

He holds a PhD in political science from the Free University in Berlin and a habilitation from the University of Bremen. Klaus has also held a post-doctoral position at the University of Bremen from 2006 to 2010. Since 2010, he has directed a Emmy Noether Research Group funded by the German Research Foundation on changing norms of global governance.
