Jill Toh is an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where she supports the institute’s work on data and technology politics. Her research interests revolve around big data, privacy, regulation, and the intersection of public and private in technology and policy-making, particularly in Europe.
Jill holds a bachelor’s degree in media studies from the University of Sussex and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international public management at Sciences Po Paris, concentrating on global risks and Europe. She is researching and writing her master's thesis on the politics of data-driven methods in political campaigning in Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
Previously, Jill worked in the ad-tech sector in South East Asia for a Berlin-based company that focused on programmatic micro-targeting advertising solutions, where she developed business strategies for the company in the South East Asia region.
