James Barklamb is an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where he contributes to the institute’s work on peace and security.
He is currently pursuing dual bachelor’s degrees in law and international relations at Monash University, Australia, and will commence an exchange program in June at the University of Yangon, Myanmar, under a scholarship from Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Prior to joining GPPi, James was a legal intern at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, where he worked for the international prosecution office. Previously, he worked with Rwanda’s National Commission for the Fight Against Genocide, analyzing post-conflict transition and alternative justice mechanisms. James has also interned at the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law and on trafficking issues across the Laos-Thai border with IOM.
