Florian Winkler is a research assistant with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, contributing to the institute’s work on peace and security.
In 2015, Florian was a visiting research assistant at the National University of Singapore, where he contributed to research on rising powers and international trade. Previously, Florian was an intern with GPPi and gained work experience at the German Mission to the United Nations in New York, the German Bundestag, and the foreign affairs department of Germany’s federal press and information office. Florian grew up in Singapore, the United States, and Germany. He completed social projects in India and Cambodia and is a leading member of the Young Initiative on Foreign Affairs and International Relations (IFAIR). His interests include Germany’s foreign policy, global governance, and the foreign policy of rising powers.
Florian holds a degree in political science and economics from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
