GPPi Research Associate contributes to edited book on e-voting perspectives and experiences
GPPi Research Associate Fabian Breuer contributed a chapter to the book entitled, “E-voting. Perspectives and Experiences”. The book is edited by Jaya Krishna and Naveen Jumar from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (Icafai) and published by the University Press.
The chapter written by Breuer, entitled “The Estonian E-Voting Experience and the Wider Context”, focuses on the developments, opportunities and problems of the introduction and implementation of e-voting as a new voting channel in Estonia. It is based on a conference held in Tallinn in 2006 and is embedded in a larger research project of the Council of Europe. The book puts forth the concept and potential, as well as the risks and pitfalls, of electronic voting and an overview of e-voting experiences across the world.
