GPPi Fellow publishes chapter on impact measurement of venture philanthropy
GPPi Fellow Susanna Krüger contributed a co-authored chapter in the book entitled, "Venture Philanthropy in Theorie und Praxis" published on 5 April 2010. The chapter focuses on the impact measurement of grant making and venture philanthropy and gives an overview of currently applied methods of social impact measurement and evaluation in foundations.
The piece also analyzes why German foundations are far behind their American counterparts in terms of assessing their actual impact. The authors argue that German foundations need to invest in the development of individual "Theories of Change" to be able to measure and improve social impact and use such a system for organizational learning.
