GPPi welcomes new fellow
Björn Conrad has joined the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin as a fellow. His areas of expertise include China’s foreign policy and political economy as well as global security governance. He also developed a special interest in the political and economic implications of the Beijing 2008 Olympics and has authored several publications on the topic. Björn will support GPPi’s nascent research program on China, Europe and global governance.
His work experience includes teaching fellowships at Harvard University and the University of Trier as well as internships with the German Foreign Office in Berlin, the Boston Consulting Group, Berlin and the UN Secretariat in New York. Furthermore, he is engaged in various projects furthering Asian-European exchange within the framework of the Asia Europe Foundation Network. He received his M.A. in Political Science, Chinese Studies and Economics from the University of Trier and a Master in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He also received a certificate of Chinese language and culture studies from Peking University where he spent the academic year 2002/2003. He is also a PhD candidate at the University of Trier.
