GPPi moderates conference on China's biological and cultural diversity

GPPi Associate Director Jan Martin Witte moderated a conference entitled "Chinas biologische und kulturelle Vielfallt: Welchen Beitrag zu ihrem Erhalt leistet die Entwicklungszusammenarbeit?"("China's biological and cultural diversity: What does development cooperation contribute to their preservation?") which took place at the Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main on 6 September 2007.

The conference, organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) and the Centrum für Internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM) was conducted as part of a current exhibition entitled "Vielfalt - Pflanzen und Menschen in Südwest-China" (Diversity - Plants and People in Southwest-China") hosted by the Palmengarten. The aim of the conference was to discuss German-Chinese development cooperation with respect to the preservation of the environment and biodiversity and to promote sustainability.
