GPPi launches partnership networking website
The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) launched a partnership networking website at the 14th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development May 10-12.
As partnerships between public and private sectors gain momentum, they are catching the interest of researchers from diverse fields. Yet research results often go unnoticed and practitioners feel their efforts do little to influence emerging research agendas. Participants in a research-practice workshop held by the SEED Initiative, Columbia University, and Colby College in 2005 voiced an urgent need for an exchange medium to remedy this situation. The site, entitled Partnership Network: Linking Research and Practice, aims to connect partnership researchers with each other and with practitioners worldwide. The network offers information about news and events, collects relevant research results and case studies, and facilitates communication about planned research projects.
