GPPi holds international learning forum on engaging business in development

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development/Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), GPPi Consulting (GPPiC) organized an international learning forum entitled “Engaging Business in Development: Reviewing Best Practices – Exploring the Potential for Donor Collaboration”. The event took place on 3-4 May 2007 in Berlin and concluded the GPPIC project “Principles for a ‘Best Practice’ Strategy in the Use of Public-Private Partnerships in German Development Assistance”.

The learning forum was designed to achieve three objectives: To provide a platform for sharing key results of the BMZ International Benchmarking Study conducted by GPPi; to exchange best practices and new ideas on partnership approaches in development cooperation; and finally, to provide an opportunity to explore potential for joint donor initiatives and overall donor coordination.

Representatives of several donor agencies, committee member agencies and international ministries attended the learning forum (for a detailed list of participants click here).
