GPPi fellow discusses G8 Summit on Deutsche Welle
On 8 June 2007, GPPi Fellow Sergey Lagodinsky was a studio guest on Quadriga, a political talk show on Deutsche Welle TV which brings together experts to discuss current affairs. In view of the G8 meetings which took place in Heiligendamm, Germany, the discussion focused on what global signals emerged from the meeting in regards to the main topics that were discussed in Heiligendamm, including: climate change, development aid for Africa, the nuclear standoff with Iran, the status of Kosovo and the Russian-US dispute over Washington's plans to base some of its missile defence shield in eastern Europe.
In addition to Sergey Lagodinsky, other guests included Sabine Rosenbladt, Chief Editor of the German foreign affairs magazine "Internationale Politik" and Mekonnen Mesghena, Senior officer for Migration Policy & Intercultural Management at the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation.
