GPPi awarded grant for conference on "the new protectorates"
The Thyssen Foundation has awarded GPPi a grant to organize a conference on "The New Protectorates: International Administration and the Dilemmas of Governance". GPPi is co-organizing the conference with the Centre for International Studies at the University of Cambridge and it will take place at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities at the University of Cambridge from 6-8 June 2007. This is an invitation-only event and is part of the International Protectorates Program http://www.gppi.net/?protectorates which brings together leading researchers and practitioners to discuss papers for an edited volume. The meeting is a follow-up to the February 2006 conference at the Rockefeller Bellagio Center that inaugurated the International Protectorates Program.
