Humanitarian Assistance
Today, humanitarian assistance is one of the most dynamic areas of global governance. Once seen exclusively as an act of international solidarity, humanitarian assistance is now linked to broader concerns about global security and development. Many increasingly view humanitarian assistance as a means of foreign policy and a way to propel international cooperation. At the same time, the increasing number of natural disasters and compound crises combined with the mushrooming of humanitarian actors have led to continuous calls for a better coordinated, more effective and accountable humanitarian system.
GPPi contributes to the improvement of humanitarian assistance through in-depth analysis, global dialogue, and the evaluation of humanitarian assistance programs.
