Extractive Industries and Good Governance
GPPi analyzes and develops strategies for promoting good governance in the extractive sector (e. g. oil, gas, diamonds). In particular, GPPi assesses the potential and pitfalls of schemes such as the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and the Kimberley Process that seek to improve the development impact of natural resource riches in developing countries.
