Europe’s Global Role
In recent years, the European Union has tried to develop a cohesive foreign and security policy to position itself as a global player and an advocate of "effective multilateralism". GPPi’s nascent research program on Europe’s global role analyzes to what extent Europe is developing a common strategic culture and assesses Europe’s strategies for dealing with some of the most pressing global challenges, e.g. the reform of global institutions, post-conflict peacebuilding and the rise of China.
