Project context
On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development/Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ), GPPiC organized an international learning forum entitled "Engaging Business in Development: Reviewing Best Practices – Exploring the Potential for Donor Collaboration". The learning forum took place on 3-4 May 2007 in Berlin and concluded the GPPiC project "Principles for a ‘Best Practice’ Strategy in the Use of Public-Private Partnerships in German Development Assistance".
Project objectives
The learning forum was designed to achieve three objectives: To provide a platform for sharing key results of the BMZ International Benchmarking Study conducted by GPPi; to exchange best practices and new ideas on partnership approaches in development cooperation; and finally, to provide an opportunity to explore potential for joint donor initiatives and overall donor coordination.
