Wade Hoxtell

Wade Hoxtell is a project manager and the head of operations and finance at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. His areas of expertise include public-private partnerships, corporate social responsibility and global energy and climate governance. He coordinates GPPi’s Global Energy Governance program and the Transatlantic Energy Governance Dialogues conference series. He is also the editor of the UN-Business Focal Point, a newsletter produced together with the UN Global Compact. He has worked as a consultant for a number of United Nations agencies – including the UN Global Compact Office, UNICEF and the International Labour Organization – on issues related to partnerships and sustainability. In addition to his work at GPPi, he serves as deputy chairman of the board for Berufsmentoring für Schüler, a non-profit organization that provides female middle school students with the opportunity to explore potential careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through mentoring and workshops.
He holds a master’s in European studies from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and undergraduate degrees in international relations, German language and culture, European studies and global cultures from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 2001-2002 he studied at the University of Bonn, where he received a state certificate in German language. Before joining GPPi in May 2006, he was a project assistant with the Aspen Institute Berlin. From 2003-2004 he worked as a legislative aide in the Wisconsin State Senate.
