Research Associate
Raphael Bossong
Raphael Bossong is a Research Associate with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin. His research interests include internatonal security, European integration, and crisis decision-making.
Raphael Bossong holds a BA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is also a PhD candiate at the LSE, writing on EU counterterrorism policy and its impact on the EU as a security actor. He recently published on this topic in the Journal of Common Market Studies.
From 2006-2008 Raphael was a research assistant for an international research project on EU security policy, and taught seminars on European integration at the LSE and King's College London. In 2007 he also worked for McKinsey & Company, Berlin and for an association of the leading British universities (the Russell Group). Previously he was an intern at Chatham House and other business consultancies. He also took on various roles in academic journals and international student organizations.
Raphael’s post-graduate studies have been supported by the UK Economic and Social Research Council. As an undergraduate he received several scholarships by Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, including one for an extended period of study in Japan.
