Research Associate

Mirjam Meissner

Mirjam Meissner is a research associate with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. She works in the institute’s Rising Powers and Global Governance program, for which she focuses mainly on China. Her research concentrates on sustainable development and innovation policy in China, emphasizing environmental technologies. In addition, she manages the project Zukunftsbrücke: Chinese-German Young Professional Campus.

Mirjam received an MA in Chinese studies, political science and economics from the Free University in Berlin. During the 2007-2008 academic year, Mirjam studied at the Huazhong Normal University in China, with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). Mirjam interned at the German Council of Foreign Affairs (DGAP) during the winter 2009-10 and with GPPi during the summer 2010. She has also held a scholarship from the German National Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes).
