Martin Sprott

Martin Sprott is a fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin.  His research and consulting focus areas are private sector development, trade policy and environmental issues.

He is currently a managing director of Meinertz, Sprott & Company, a consulting business providing British investors with financial and strategic advice in support of investments in continental Europe.  The company focuses on environmental technology solutions including renewable energy production, energy efficiency and related electronics applications.

His research interest includes issues relating to private sector contributions to development and environmental management, most recently advising the UN Secretariat in an evaluation of their business partnerships in the area of climate change.

Prior to working with Meinertz, Sprott & Company Martin restructured the electronics company Grundig on behalf of its UK shareholders.  This was first at the global level and later as Managing Director of its Nordic division.  Before this he worked for Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in their energy and telecoms practices.  He worked in London, Paris, Düsseldorf and Lisbon advising numerous leading companies on strategy development, restructuring and mergers and acquisitions. 

Martin holds a law degree and an MSc in International Political Economy, both from the London School of Economics.
