Research Assistant
Marian Weimann
Marian Weimann is a Research Assistant with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin. He is a postgraduate student in Political Science and Business Informatics at the University of Potsdam and the Free University Berlin. His research interests focus on development and humanitarian aid, labour market policy and employment, and international and comparative political economy.
Prior to joining GPPI in May 2008, he worked for the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) as well as for the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB) on a project evaluating labour market reforms in Germany.
Marian received his M.A. in Political Economy at the University of Essex in 2007, where he wrote his thesis on “Government Spending in Developing
Countries: Trade Liberalisation, Organised Interests and Welfare Spending.”
