Hannes Ebert
Hannes Ebert is a Research Assistant with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin. He is an undergraduate student at the Free University Berlin, Otto-Suhr-Institute, where he is pursuing a Diploma of political science. His research interests focus on global security governance, peace operations and the politics of the Maghreb and the Middle East.
During the 2006-07 academic year Hannes studied international affairs at the Graduate Institute of International Studies (HEI) and the Graduate Institute of Development Studies (IUED) in Geneva, Switzerland. Hannes was summer intern at the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin in 2007. Hannes interned at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP Berlin) in the summer of 2006 and at the “data bank project 2006” at the department of International Peace and Security Policy, Free University Berlin. As a student assistant he contributed to the textbook “Comparative Political Analysis” published in July 2007 (UTB 2871). He currently supports the work of the Harvard Center for European Studies Berlin Dialogues 2007-2008 series. Hannes has been engaged in numerous United Nations and European Union models, including the Harvard National Model United Nations 2006 in Boston, USA. He is a fellow of the German National Merit Foundation’s academic “Kolleg” on globalization and sustainability.
