Cortnie Anne Shupe
Cortnie Anne Shupe is a Research Associate with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin. She is completing a two-year dual-degree graduate program in International Relations offered jointly by Humboldt University Berlin, the Free University Berlin and the University of Potsdam in cooperation with the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO).
Cortnie currently supports GPPi's work on public-private partnerships and humanitarian action. She previously supported GPPi's work on the Research and Learning Channel of the SEED Initiative and contributed to the report, Partnerships for Sustainable Development: On the Road to Implementation (Berlin 2006). She was also coeditor of the UN-Business Focal Point Newsletter published on behalf of the UN Global Compact Office.
Her work experience includes internships with the Institute of International Education and with FINCA-Peru, a non-profit communal banking organization for indigenous women in Ayacucho, Peru. Cortnie holds a B.A. in International Relations, German and Spanish from Clark Honors College, University of Oregon. She was a Fulbright Scholar during 2005-2006 in Germany, where she conducted research on German development cooperation, and a Presidential Scholar at the University of Oregon from 2001-2005. For her studies at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations, Cortnie received a scholarship from the Haniel Foundation.
