Andreas Goldthau
Andreas Goldthau is a Transatlantic PostDoc Fellow in International Relations and Security with the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University, in Washington DC.
Before joining the SAIS, Andreas worked as a Transatlantic Fellow with the RAND Corporation and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), as a Research Fellow with the Institute for East European Studies at the Free University of Berlin, as a Fulbright Senior Scholar with the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University, and as a Robert Bosch Visiting Lecturer with Tyumen State University in Russia. Andreas holds a joint graduate degree in Political Science from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and Free University Berlin, a State Certificate in Russian language from Lomonossow University, Moscow, and a PhD from Free University Berlin. His current academic interests focus on energy security and on global governance issues related to oil and gas.
Among others, he held scholarships from the Fulbright Commission, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the French-German Foundation for Higher Education, the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Otto Group. Andreas has been appointed a Young Leader by the German-Russian Forum and also is a member of the Tönissteiner Kreis, an association dedicated to the promotion of young international leaders.
