Maxie Matthiessen

Maxie Matthiessen was an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin, for the spring of 2009. She holds a bachelor of science in Business, Languages and Culture from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.

Her previous work experiences include internships at the Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit in Nicaragua, OTTO in Hamburg, MyC4 in Copenhagen and Allianz in Munich, in which her focus centred around bilateral and private development cooperation, CSR, business ethics, as well as future trends and business strategy.

Maxie’s key interest is microfinance and she has worked in this field both locally in Central America as well as from Denmark with special focus on Sub-Saharan Africa.
