Visiting Project Associate

Maribeth Gainard

Maribeth Gainard was a visiting project associate with GPPi from February to May 2008 as part of a Robert Bosch Foundation fellowship. Her interests focused on international organizations, international security, conflict resolution, and economic development. 

Previously, Maribeth was a Robert Bosch fellow in the German Federal Foreign Office in the division coordinating German policy towards the United Nations organizations in the area of development aid. From 2002-2003, she was a Fulbright Fellow in Mali working on issues related to microcredit and economic development. Most recently, Maribeth worked at Ernst & Young, Paris, in financial auditing and transaction advisory services.  She also worked at UNESCO and the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI).

Maribeth holds a Master in International Affairs and a Master Recherche in Economics of International Relations, both from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).  During her studies at Sciences Po, she was a Rotary World Peace Fellow at the Center for Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution (now the Center for Peace and Human Security). She is a graduate of the Huntsman Program of the University of Pennsylvania from which she holds a B.A. in International Studies and French and a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School.
