Intern

Lena Köver

Lena Köver was an intern with GPPi during the summer of 2009. She recently graduated from the University of Oxford, where she completed her B.A. degree in Modern History and Politics. In the fall of 2009, Lena will pursue a Masters at the University of Oxford in African Studies, focusing predominantly on East African politics since independence.

During the summer of 2008, she worked in conjunction with a local Tanzanian charity, Aang Serian, teaching English in a Massai school for four weeks. The aim of the project was to supplement the money attained through fundraising with teaching and living in the local primary and secondary school. In the summer 2007, Lena participated in a German-Polish Tandem Course (in association with GFPS), which aimed to foster relations and increase awareness between German and Polish students. She played Blues football during her three years at university and, in her final year, was President of the Women's Football Club.

During her time with GPPi, Lena supported GPPi’s work on humanitarian assistance.
