James Eley

James Eley was an intern at GPPi in the summer of 2010. Currently studying a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Western Australia, James has completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in the fields of Political Science and German. James’ academic interests throughout his studies focused on questions relating to international relations and policy. In particular, the issue of disarmament has been a key area of research for James. Throughout his higher education, James has received scholarships from the Freemason’s Society. Furthermore, in 2008 he was awarded the Convocation of the University of Western Australia Graduates Association Prize for his contribution to student organisations. Amongst holding many other various positions and offices, in 2009 James was President of the Law Students’ Society of the University of Western Australia.

James has previously clerked with the law firm DLA Phillips Fox. Before arriving in Berlin, he was employed at a boutique family law firm in Western Australia. Upon his return to Australia, James will complete his Bachelor of Laws. Following that, he intends to undertake a Masters degree.
