Ian Aucoin

Ian Aucoin was an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin from June-August 2011. He completed bachelor degrees in history, anthropology and international studies at Louisiana State University in 2005 and is currently pursuing joint professional degrees in international relations and law from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and Stanford Law School respectively. Between his undergraduate and graduate study, he served for five years as an officer in the United States Navy both in the US and abroad in Japan, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ian’s research interests include shifts in global power at the end of the 20th century, East Asian security cooperation and worldwide macroeconomic policy. During his time at GPPi, he primarily assisted with the project Origins of Strategy for Justice and Security Sector Reform in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
