Elias Cristante was an intern with the Global Public Policy Institute for the summer of 2010. He is completing a B.A. at Trinity College, University of Toronto with a double major in History and Italian. At the University of Toronto, his research focuses on diplomatic history, US foreign policy and Canadian foreign policy. His academic interests include North America, Western Europe, China and Southeast Asia. Elias is also planning an exchange with the University of Hong Kong for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Elias has recently completed an internship at the British House of Commons. Working under Nadine Dorries, Conservative MP for Mid-Bedfordshire, Elias helped brief constituents on party policy in several including the environment, nuclear policy, European Union integration and the war in Afghanistan. He also conducted research and designed presentations on the UK's vehicle scrappage scheme. His environmental focus stems from his local consulting work for the Council of Canadians, a national grass-roots group.
