Catherine Wurth

Catherine Wurth was an intern with GPPi for the winter 2011. She comes from Luxembourg and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
Before GPPi and Hertie, Catherine completed a double bachelor’s in history and politics from the University Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris. She also holds a master’s in migration, mobility and development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. She wrote her master’s dissertation on immigration policies inside the European Union, analyzing the rationale of the open borders policy inside the EU and its implications for Central and Eastern European migrants as well as non-European migrants.
In addition, Catherine has experience in the field of development cooperation. She was an intern at the Ministry of Development Cooperation in Luxembourg. She also worked for six months in Tajikistan in a natural disaster risk management project, funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office. Finally, she has worked in educational projects both in Malawi and the Comoros Islands.
Catherine’s research interests include topics related to migration and development.
