Internships
The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) runs a small, highly selective full-time internship program for students and recent graduates interested in gaining first-hand experience in public policy research and consulting. We do our best to match the qualifications and interests of our interns with research and consulting projects to which they can contribute most.
Candidates must be highly motivated to work independently in a demanding think tank environment that requires excellent research and analysis as well as project management skills. Candidates must be proficient in both oral and written English. Knowledge of German is a plus but not a prerequisite.
Internships are based in our Berlin office. GPPi can pay a €250-per-month contribution to living expenses for those not receiving a scholarship for their internship. The minimum duration is six weeks of full-time working hours. Please indicate when you would be available.
Interested in interning with GPPi?
Send an email to GPPi@gppi.net and include a copy of your CV with a brief statement of purpose outlining what you expect from an internship and what you would bring to GPPi. Please indicate when you would be available. Shortlisted candidates will be asked for writing samples.
Note: Depending on their background and interests, GPPi interns will contribute to one of five thematic programs:
- Humanitarian Assistance (accepting applications for August 2013 and beyond)
- Global Energy Governance (not accepting applications at this time)
- Rising Powers & Global Governance (accepting applications for July 2013 and beyond)
- Innovation in Development (not accepting applications at this time)
- Peace and Security (accepting applications for December 2013 and beyond)
- Human Rights (not accepting applications at this time)
Applicants should specify which GPPi program or programs they are prepared and interested to work for. Early applications are encouraged.
