Robert Marten

Robert is currently focusing on reporting as well as monitoring and evaluation for the Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) in Zambia. In May 2008, he graduated from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin with a Master of Public Policy and is now serving on the Alumni Council. His research interests focus on international development, international organizations, public health, transatlantic relations and global governance. 

Robert Marten was a Research Assistant with the Global Public Policy Institute, Berlin from 2007 - 2008. Alongside his work at GPPi, he also received a fellowship to participate in Humanity in Action’s human rights educational program in Germany for June and July of 2008.

His experience includes work in Vietnam and Burma with Volunteers-in-Asia, SwissContact, USAID, the Vietnam Education Foundation, CARE, the Vietnamese government and the Netherlands Medical Committee. He also served as programme manager for a United Nations Volunteers (UNV) project working with people living with HIV/AIDS in Hanoi, Vietnam. Most recently, he interned with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Nairobi, Kenya and Monrovia, Liberia. Robert holds a BA (Honours History and Political Science) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
