Elisabeth Heid

Elisabeth is Head of Partnerships with Teach First Deutschland, an educational start-up that attracts talented university graduates for a two-year teaching position in challenging schools in Germany.
Elisabeth was a Research Associate with the Global Public Policy Institute from March 2005 to July 2006. At GPPi, she was case study author for the Seed Initiative Report "Partnerships for Sustainable Development: On the Road to Implementation" (2006) and for the GPPi/Global Compact study "Business UNusual. Facilitating United Nations Reform Through Partnerships" (2005), and contributed to the Review of the Global Reporting Initiative.
Elisabeth was previously a Carlo-Schmid-Fellow with the World Bank’s Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Unit (PREM) for the Africa Region (Washington DC), and interned at the United Nations Development Programme’s Regional Office for Europe and CIS (Bratislava, Slovakia). Elisabeth holds an MA in International Relations from the Humboldt University Berlin, the Free University Berlin and the University of Potsdam (MAIB). She previously studied political science, sociology, economics and law at the University of Freiburg and at Oxford University. For the duration of her studies, Elisabeth received a fellowship from the German National Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes).
