Anita Hurrell

Anita Hurrell was a research associate at GPPi from September 2006 to February 2007 and primarily assisted with the project Principles for a “Best Practice” Strategy in the Use of Public-Private Partnerships in German Development Assistance.

Anita currently works as a senior researcher at Policy Network, an international progressive think tank based in London, focusing in particular on immigration and integration and on globalization and social justice. She previously worked as a caseworker at Refugee and Migrant Justice in London, where she represented asylum seekers and migrants at all stages of their cases, including clients in immigration detention. Prior to this, she worked as an intern at the London office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and as assistant program coordinator in the Asia Pacific department at Transparency International in Berlin. She was previously an editorial intern at Internationale Politik – Global Edition, the English-language edition of the foreign affairs journal published by the German Council on Foreign Relations.

In October 2007 Anita completed a two-year master’s program in international relations at the Free University Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin and the University of Potsdam, supported by a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service. In July 2005 she received a BSc in international relations from the London School of Economics.
